Avon and Somerset Local Resilience Forum publish revised Community Risk Register (6th April 2011)
The Avon and Somerset Local Resilience Forum (ASLRF) is a local body, part of whose work is to ensure that events or situations which threaten serious damage to the people of Avon and Somerset or to the environment are identified and, where possible controlled or mitigated against.

Update; Suspicious object discovered at Pill North Somerset found to be a harmless piece of metal. (10th May 2010)
On the 7th of May 2010 multi agency activity commenced to establish the true nature of the suspicious article found at Pill, North Somerset, after fears that it may have been an unexploded world war 2 bomb.

Multi agency operation launched following discovery of suspicious object (Pill) (4th May 2010)
Plans for a multi agency operation to deal with a suspicious object in North Somerset have been announced.

Avon and Somerset LRF Evacuation and Shelter Plans Receive Awards (13th October 2009)
The evacuation and shelter planning that has been carried out by the Somerset Local Authorities Civil Contingencies Partnership on behalf of the LRF has been awarded two national RSPCA awards. Barbara Sharratt who leads for the LRF on this area of work has picked up the Innovator Award for innovation in animal welfare and the Gold Footprint Award which is awarded for contingency planning.

Avon and Somerset Local Resilience Forum Re-issue Community Risk Register (8th September 2009)
As part of our continuing responsibility to assess the risk of an emergency occurring and to assess the risk of an emergency making it necessary or expedient for the person or body to perform any of its functions the Avon and Somerset has re-issed the Community Risk Register (CRR). Avon and Somerset Local Resilience Forum Prepares for Swine Flu Pandemic (3rd July 2009)
Following the recent government announcement that the country would be moving from a containment phase to a treatment phase in tackling Swine Flu, it is timely to give further information about what the partner organisations are doing to prepare for a pandemic.
